Lulu Junior Author of the Month - Isabelle S.
We’ve made it to August! Before school starts back up, let’s distract ourselves and get into this month’s Author of the Month. We’ve actually got a double feature! This month our author is Isabelle S. who wrote “Little Bird” and “Little Bird - The Birthday.” Get to reading to hear Isabelle’s stories about little bird and his adventures!
Mama bird laid an egg and left little bird as she went to look for food. Little bird pushed with everything he had to crack open the egg. The egg cracked open and he was out! He looked around for Mama.
He looked high and low for Mama but no sign of her. He even sang a special song for her.
He finally saw her! She brought him worms to eat. “Yum, yum,” said little bird.
Mama said “it’s time to learn to fly.” Little bird spread his wings…”he fell, fell, fell, and then he flew!”
He flew round and round all the while singing. He landed back in the nest and him and Mama gave each other a big hug!
Keep reading for Isabelle’s second story, “Little Bird - The Birthday.”
Little bird woke up excited, it was his birthday!
Mama bird flew into the nest with their breakfast. Mama asked if he’d slept well to which little bird responded, “yes” as he gobbled down his breakfast.
Little bird combed his feathers and brushed his beak and flew off to school.
He began to wonder if Mama had forgotten his birthday. He got to school and met up with some of his friends and it was time for school to start. School consisted of math, reading, and science. He was still learning to read, but he still enjoyed it!
It was time to go home and all his friends had already left. He flew back by himself and he had thought everyone had forgotten his birthday. He was very sad as he flew back home.
“SURPRISE!” yelled his friends. His mom and friends were all at his home. “Happy birthday,” said Mama. What a great birthday surprise!
Two sweet and creative stories written by Isabelle! A big thank you to her for being our August featured author! Check out Isabelle’s interview below to find out more about her writing experience!
