Lulu Junior Author of the Month - Aidan Peay
When you think of superhero names, “Mr. Grandpa” may not be at the top of your list, but that might change after reading this story by Lulu Junior’s Author of the Month, Aidan Peay!
Aidan takes us on an action-packed ride with an accidental superhero, Mr. Grandpa, as they fight off the evil radioactive boogers they encounter in the story. If the idea of a grandpa as a superhero makes you laugh, you’re not alone.
“I thought that a Grandpa who was a superhero would be funny,” says Aidan. “I am always thinking up new characters for my books and comics.”
That may explain our unexpected hero, but what about the evil radioactive boogers?
“My Uncle, who is an artist, drew a picture for me of a monster. The monster reminded me of boogers and I thought booger monsters would make good villains,” says Aidan.
If boogers don’t make good villains, we don’t know what will.
Luckily, Mr. Grandpa isn’t alone in facing these terrifying monsters! His brave grandson, Jake, is by his side the whole time, harnessing the power of flatulence to destroy the evil creatures.
Although this is Aidan’s first published book, writing is nothing new to the 11-year old.
“My Grandma gave me the [Lulu Junior] kit for Christmas 2016,” said Aidan. “She knew how much I liked making up new stories and characters all the time.”
If you know a young author who loves creating their own worlds with exciting stories and unusual characters, Lulu Junior book-making kits are the perfect gift!
