This month, we’re featuring the heartwarming story “The Adventures of Pickles the Pug” by Iris. Join Pickles the Pug as he embarks on an adventure and befriends someone new along the way! Let’s get into it!

One afternoon, Pickles the pug and his owner, Tom, go on a walk. They play fetch, and Tom throws the stick deep into the woods. Pickles runs to fetch the stick, and when he finds it, it’s stuck in a bush. As he is grabbing the stick, his collar gets stuck and flies off.

Pickles searches for his collar, but it’s nowhere to be found. Pickles continues walking and comes across a pond. Pickles is so sad and starts to cry. His crying catches the attention of a frog nearby. The frog asks why Pickles is crying. Pickles tells him that he’s lost his collar and can’t find his way back home.

The frog offers to help him! He introduces himself as Tuna. They begin their search for the collar. They look in the log–no luck. Next, under a rock–no collar, just bugs! They search everywhere and find nothing. Tuna lets out a huge burp, and out comes the collar! Wow!

Pickles puts the collar on and as he spins in circles, all you can hear is the jingle-jangling of his collar. The sound made its way through the woods to the ear of Tom. “Pickles!” Tom calls.

“I thought you were gone forever!” he says as he hugs Pickles.

We're so happy Pickles and Tom were reunited! A big thank you to Iris for sharing this fantastic story with us. Continue reading to find out what inspired Iris and more in the interview below.
