We’ve got a mystery on our hands for May! Our featured story is, “The Muscovies ‘Return of D.r. Mallardy” by Mariangel. Let’s get into the story.

We’re introduced to a few of our main characters: Stella, Della, Piti, and Scrooge who are all Muscovie ducks. Everyone is in the room when Scrooge screams, “Look, it’s the international ducky news! It’s about a mystery!”

They listen as the news duck tells the citizens of Ducky City that a golden statue had been stolen. Scrooge gets up to grab some popcorn and at that same moment Della spots a note, and gasps audibly as she says “Detective Manchita!”

The door busts open and Mozarella comes through panicking and shouts, “My gold watch has been stolen!” Scrooge responds, “We know, and we need Detective Manchita and Professor Quackers.”

They all go to Detective Manchita’s laboratory and punch in the code to get in and find the detective.

“I know why you’re here!” Manchita exclaims. The detective shares that they know who has committed the crime and the suspect is Dr. Mallardy! They have to find him and Professor Quackers chimes in that he knows exactly where Mallardy’s lab is located.

They all arrive and Scrooge needs to break down the wall. They go into the lab and find Dr. Mallardy creating all sorts of new inventions. They also saw the statue that had gone missing along with even more gold!

Dr. Mallardy is surprised but says with an evil laugh, “You think you can stop me? Well, you’re too late!” He hands a scroll over to Quesito. “With my Duck-O-Ray I will steal your powers and take over this city!” he says as he walks out. The muscovy ducks need a plan asap!

While the muscovies were busy coming up with the plan, they didn’t even realize that Dr. Mallardy sneaks back in to create a potion. Suddenly, Quesito smells something. Quesito screams just as an explosive goes off!

Plan A was in action! Scrooge pretended to be a clown so that Dr. Mallard’s assistant, Mallardo, would let them in. Scrooge communicates with the team and lets them know what is going on. He runs into somebody else who said, “I am Dr. Mallardy II. I’m the next leader. If you’re related to the muscovies, you don’t want to know what’s about to happen."

What was the plan that Dr. Mallardy II had? He shares it was Scrooge. He wants to be a ruler and wants to destroy the muscovies powers. His machine has the power to take their powers.

Scrooge is able to sneak out and fills in the other ducks as to what happened. They move on to Plan B! Dr. Mallardy was planning to attack on Tuesday so they had some time to work out what they were going to do to stop him.

Tuesday comes and it’s time! Dr. Mallardy runs after Mozarella but unfortunately, Quesito and the other muscovy ducks are losing their powers. They didn’t know what to do! But Detective Manchita signals them over to a rock that was near a cliff. They decide they’ve got to jump!

Dr. Mallardy follows them but with the last bit of power they have, the muscovy ducks make a large energy ball. This is their LAST chance. Dr. Mallardy doesn’t run from the energy ball, but instead, he collects all their powers. Is this the end for the ducks? Dr. Mallardy says, “You should have given up. Now I am the ruler!” He uses a potion and grows enormously. He grabs the ducks but at the very same time, their friends arrive.

They begin throwing random items at Dr. Mallardy and one turns out to be a potion that reverses the first potion and he grows to be very small.

The muscovies got their powers back! They defeated Dr. Mallardy!

Yay for the muscovy ducks! We are glad they were able to defeat the evil doctor. Thank you Mariangel for sharing your story with us. Continue reading to find out what Mariangel had to say in her interview.
