Author of the Month - Anshul S.
It’s August and it’s almost time to go back to school. But… let’s push that to the back of our minds and get lost in this month’s story. Our featured story is “The Pirate and the Volcano” by Anshul. Let’s get into the pirate adventure!
There’s an island where four special babies are born who grow up to be pirates. The first pirate is Quicklet, who is very fast. The second pirate is Sneakaplet, who is very sneaky. The third is Muscleton (nickname is Muscles) who is very strong, the strongest on the whole island. And lastly, there is Smartystack who is the smartest on the island.
The four of them go to many large and towering islands collecting shiny gems and treasures. They soon become rich!
They each buy a house, get married, and have children. They live very happy lives and soon they are 50 years old!
One day, Smartystack decides to go and find gold. He shared his plan with his 3 other friends but no one was interested in embarking on this adventure. However; a month later, his pirate friends changed their minds after counting the money they had left (which wasn’t very much at all).
The four pirates decide to go look for the island called Mysternet. It was known to have an abundance of gold, but nobody has ever discovered any of it. They set sail on their ship, looking far and wide for this island. They endure many storms and sea monsters along the way! After three long years, they finally come upon Mysternet!
They start to look around the island and see many mountains and a large forest. Suddenly, everything begins to shake and they hear a loud rumbling… it’s a volcano! The pirates are scared, they are shaking in their books and their teeth are clattering! They find a cave and decide to hide in there.
Finally, the volcano stops. They look around the cave to try and find a safe way out and they find a map that is carved on one of the walls.
They read the map very carefully and after following the directions, they are led to something glowing at the bottom of the volcano. They start following the glow and realize it’s gold!
Two protectors jump down from a hole above them. Smartystack springs into action and comes out with a plan of how they can get the gold.
Quicklet runs and has to try to make sure he doesn’t get caught… but fails and is not sneaky enough. Sneakaplet is able to get in and get the gold! Muscleton has to fight the two protectors who are very strong, but Muscleston is able to beat them and win! He frees Quicklet and they journey back home.
They have to fight off other ships and pirates who want to steal their gold. They finally reach their home island and a humongous mountain rises in front of them. They begin their hike home through forests and jungles up the mountain. As they reach the top, they begin thinking about how long it will take them to reach the other side of the mountain. But they happily talk about how excited they are to soon reach home and share their story with their families.
The pirates run into the village and are greeted by a huge celebration from their friends and families. They play the longest game of tag and end their party by playing arcade games. They all left and finally made their way to their comfortable homes and shared all their stories with their families. Everyone was so happy they were home and they live happily ever after!
